Creek Street

Creek Street was built over the water so that all of the buildings would technically be in “international waters” and not under the purview of the U.S. Government, so they could skirt the law. It was the original “red-light district” of Alaska.

Creek Street in Ketchikan, Alaska is my favorite place in Alaska. If you are there at the right time, you can see one of the most famous Salmon Runs in Alaska. I caught a few Salmon over the railings of the boardwalk. I also got lucky and got to see Bald Eagles perched on the buildings scoping out the Salmon jumping below.
