The Ting Kau Bridge is important for connecting the mainland of Hong Kong to the Hong Kong International Airport. It is designed in the unique way that it is because it is designed to stand up to the intense rain and wind from Tsunamis and tropical storms that are regular in the city of Hong Kong.

The beautiful Merced River cuts through the picturesque Yosemite Valley. Once home to the southernmost Salmon run in North America, this river has inspired artistic passion the world over.

Yosemite Valley has always held a very special place in my heart. Hiking to the top of its many granite mountain faces, and being misted by its impressive waterfalls has left an indelible impression in my soul. This particular photo was taken in August during the intense California drought. It was sad to be in the valley and see the famous Yosemite waterfalls dried up, but it was a relief that the everlasting Merced River still happily flowed through the Valley floor.

Finished in 2013, the new span of the San Francisco Bay Bridge holds the Guinness World Record for the widest bridge in the world. As you can see in the background, illuminated by the new bridge, is the old cantilever bridge that collapsed during the Loma Prieta Earthquake in 1989.

Living in Oakland and working in San Francisco, you will get quite used to the sight of crossing this iconic bridge. On a cloudy night the lights shine out like a lamp post into the night of The Bay.

Creek Street was built over the water so that all of the buildings would technically be in "international waters" and not under the purview of the U.S. Government, so they could skirt the law. It was the original "red-light district" of Alaska.

Creek Street in Ketchikan, Alaska is my favorite place in Alaska. If you are there at the right time, you can see one of the most famous Salmon Runs in Alaska. I caught a few Salmon over the railings of the boardwalk. I also got lucky and got to see Bald Eagles perched on the buildings scoping out the Salmon jumping below.

Lake Merritt is famous for being the United States' first wildlife refuge. It originally served as an extended wetland pool stretching out from the bay, where the Ohlone Indians hunted and fished in modern day Oakland.

Living next to Lake Merritt is a special privilege. Some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world are reflected in its glassy surface, dotted by birds and crew boats swimming across, creating trails, cutting through the infinite colors of the sky.

The Village of Oia on the Island of Santorini is by far the most beautiful place in the world. Walking down its marbled streets feels reminiscent of paradise. The houses are painted pastel colors like something out of a graphic novel, and every home is an ocean-front property.

I will never forget my short time in Oia, Santorini. It is my favorite place in the world, and if I could live there, I would. If you ever get a chance to visit this beautiful city, don't forget to try the home-made Vinsanto wine!

Just off the cost of Naples, Italy, Capri is a beautiful tourist location, and is famous for its beautiful villas, impressive coastal cliffs, and delicious limoncello, an alcohol drink infused with the rinds of lemons.

Capri is such a magical place. Home to the two sister towns of Capri and Anacapri, this is definitely one of the most beautiful islands in the mediterranean. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Mt. Vesuvius, which is a sign, as the locals say, that it will soon rain.

The Pantheon in Rome is still the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome. It is one of the best preserved of all Ancient Roman buildings, due to in part the fact that it has been in continuous use since the 7th century.

When I visited Rome, this was the one thing I wanted to see. This is still one of the most impressive buildings of Ancient Rome, and to walk around it or inside of it truly leaves a lasting impression. The day I visited happened to be raining, and it was amazing to stand in the center of the dome and feel the rain coming through the perfect circle in the center of the ceiling.

One of the most iconic landmarks in San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge is remarkable for being able to survive the harsh conditions present at the lone inlet into The Bay. The Golden Gate Straight is responsible for the passage of all of the container ships that dock in the massive docks of The Bay Area, carrying goods from Asia to all of America.

Crissy Field is one of the best locations for viewing The Golden Gate Bridge. Adjacent to The Marina District of San Francisco, it offers one of the best and flattest walking paths to the famous bridge.

The Bonneville Salt Flats are best known for hosting land speed records at Bonneville Speedway. The flat, dried salt is all that remains of an ancient lake.

Driving over Utah's salt flats is an interesting experience. After coming out of the mountains, you reach an endless white, flat salt field dotted on every side by mountains that duck underneath the flatness. Every way you look is this perfect off white ruler's edge cutting the sky.

In Venice, there aren't any cars, so every boat functions like a car. There are taxi boats, bus boats, garbage boats, delivery boats, you name it! Where most cities have alleys, in Venice you find these beautiful alleyway canals. Each one unique in its own special, beautiful way.

When you visit Venice, the first thing that hits you by surprise if you are not used to it is the lack of roads. Everywhere a traditional city would contain a road, Venice contains a canal. The vivid colors of the city, the reflection on the water, the unique looking boats, and the crumbling brick work make for a view quite unlike anything else in the world.

La Liberté éclairant le monde is a French statue that symbolizes, to many Americans, the freedom and enlightenment that epitomizes the idea of The United States. The statue has been emblazoned in the cultural identity of America because many of the original immigrants of The United States came to the country through Ellis Island, which is located directly beside the island that holds the famous statue.

This picture was taken on New Year's, of the same year I finally became an American Citizen. It signifies to me my travels around the United States of America, cloudy and stormy, but full of beauty and hope for the future.

The lights lighting up the main rotunda of the City Hall are constantly changing to represent current events. Lit up orange when the SF Giants won the world series, or gold and blue for the Warriors, they are constantly representative of what is important to the city.
